What is Perfect ! Wood®?

Perfect ! Wood is a wood composite made of byproduct wood fibers and recycled polymer alloys.  It is environmentally Green and completely recyclable when reprocessed.

How is Perfect ! Wood manufactured?

Perfect ! Wood is manufactured under a patent pending process in which wood fibers are individually encapsulated in polymer alloys. 
The result is a very durable product with superior resistance to rot, moisture, twisting and warpage.

What is the warranty on Perfect ! Wood?

Perfect ! Wood products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against rotting, warping, splitting and termite infestation.

Will Perfect ! Wood absorb moisture?

Because the wood fibers are individually encapsulated, moisture absorption is extremely low for Perfect ! Wood.

Do I need to allow for thermal expansion and contraction when installing Perfect ! Wood?

Perfect ! Wood exhibits very low linear expansion and contraction due to thermal change.

What types of tools are required when installing Perfect ! Wood?

Perfect ! Wood can be easily installed with standard woodworking tools, including hammer, saw, rasp, level, and square. It is easily
mitered with a fine tooth saw.  It routs cleanly without chipping or ragged edges.

Are there other special fasteners required when working with Perfect ! Wood?

No, Perfect ! Wood can be installed using standard fasteners: brads, nails, staples and screws.  These fasteners can be used within
1 inch of the end of the product without splitting or cracking.  Miters can be chemically bonded for a tight fit that won’t fail even when
exposed to the elements.

Does Perfect ! Wood require any special painting requirements?

Perfect ! Wood can be painted with any good primer and exterior paint.  In fact, if you use an alkyd based paint, Perfect ! Wood does
not require priming.

Can I stain Perfect ! Wood?

Yes, Perfect ! Wood can be stained to match the door and other moldings.  We recommend using a good quality gel stain. 
The Therma-Tru® Finishing Kit works especially well with Perfect ! Wood.

Are there EPA or OSHA concerns when working with Perfect ! Wood?

Perfect ! Wood is not considered hazardous by the EPA and can be disposed of as with any normal solid waste.   For OSHA concerns,
there are no more regulations when working with Perfect ! Wood than there are when working with natural wood.  For complete
